Iranian officials announced the first cases of coronavirus on 19th of February, which happened to have been detected in Chinese workers and students in the city of Qom. Tehran has tried to cover up the news of epidemic in the early days of the outbreak in order to guarantee voter turnout in planned parliamentary elections.
