This discussion paper focusses on the Idlib Crisis, with particular emphasis on the plight of refugees and the internally displaced. This publication comes at a time when both the situation on the ground are subject to rapid change, and the various diplomatic engagements to find a lasting ceasefire thus far inconclusive. With a deadline for Turkish counter-offensive in Idlib fast approaching, and various future scenarios predicted, this paper concentrates on the scale of the humanitarian disaster afoot, the nature of the Assad regime and its justifications for its offensive, and the human cost that ‘Western’ inaction has till date incurred.
