This discussion paper analyses the historical background of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh as well as Russian involvement in the context of the latest SU-30SM aircraft deliveries to Armenia. In outlining the historical geopolitics of the NagornoKarabakh conflict, this paper will examine the fragile stalemate in Nagorno-Karabakh. Furthermore, the paper will touch upon the Russian stance in the conflict and analyse the latest purchase of SU-30SM fighter aircraft by the Armenian Air Forces.
