TRT World Research Centre organized a private roundtable meeting with its members on “Examining the July 15 Coup Attempt as a Breaking Point in History.” Dr. Alev Alatlı was hosted as a keynote speaker.

The July 15 coup attempt has been the most important phenomenon of Turkish politics in the last few decades. It’s after effects are still felt throughout the Turkish society and state mechanism. The roundtable meeting has started with the question of how such a heinous coup attempt had become possible and what politicians should do to prevent similar attempts from happening. The steps taken to expel the FETÖ from the state apparatus were also discussed.
