Russia and China are the two largest and the most prominent powers in Asia in terms of their size, population, and military strength.
Russia is pursuing a strategic partnership with China right now, but different interests occasionally arouse suspicion. The larger Chinese goal is most likely to dominate Eurasia, which means relegating Russia to second-tier status. This will may lead to a potential tension between these two countries at some point.
