Pınar Tankır is an Associate Researcher at TRT World Research Centre. Before joining TRT World her role was as Partnerships and International Relations Manager at the Australian Centre for Education and Training. Pinar Tankır obtained her BA in Social Sciences at La Trobe University, in Melbourne, Australia. Having majored in Political Science and Sociology, she went on to obtain her Master of International Relations from La Trobe and completed a semester at the University of Oxford, St Antony's College where she undertook the subject Political Transformation in the Contemporary Middle East. Her Master's thesis is titled 'The United States Role in the South China Sea Dispute: Strategies, Policies and Interests. Her research pertains to Middle Eastern foreign policy, political strategy, securitisation of development, and democratization.
